Tell us what inspired you to work with Miranda Kerr and KORA in your latest campaigns and product offerings.
Miranda and I have been in the industry for so long. We have both been exposed to many different products and ethics. We are both moms, and we both really care about empowering women. I admire her and always have. She has been someone I have looked up to for most of my life, and to be able to partner to offer moms something special that we believe will uplift them is a dream come true. Bumpsuit’s partnership with Miranda Kerr embodies both of our mutual dedication to creating empowering, practical, and stylish solutions for women that disrupt the status quo.
Tell us about the inspiration for Bumpsuit.
I created Bumpsuit during my third pregnancy. Throughout my first two pregnancies, I couldn’t find anything on the market that I felt comfortable with. So, I worked with a manufacturer to create something I could wear as an everyday uniform. And that’s what it became! I wore it every day, I even slept in it! One day, a friend asked me why I didn’t have it available for all women. So that’s when I thought of a name, trademarked everything, and…. liftoff! Four months later, it sold out on pre-order. I guess there was a major gap in the market that not only I was feeling.
Having been pregnant and experiencing [all that went along with it] allowed me to make adjustments to Bumpsuit along the way and to perfect it to meet a multitude of needs. During my pregnancies, I encountered a lot of discomfort from things like acid reflux. The elastic bands and seams that I found in traditional maternity clothing just added to my discomfort. The maternity designs that did provide comfort were often lacking in other areas. They didn’t fit quite right or looked ‘frumpy’ and unflattering. I found the available options stagnant and lacking fresh ideas that celebrated the beauty and uniqueness of pregnancy.
Additionally, I didn’t feel it was practical to invest in clothing that I could only wear for a short period of time. I wanted something I could buy and wear throughout all trimesters, into postpartum, and years beyond. I became deeply motivated to breathe new life into the maternity wear space and create something that would serve as a source of inspiration, making the pregnancy journey an aspirational experience. Bumpsuit allowed me to feel chic and supported, and I could easily change the look of it every day through accessorizing. I didn’t even have to think about what to wear. It was just a Bumpsuit, 7 days a week, on repeat.
How do you believe it empowers and celebrates the female form, especially during pregnancy and postpartum?
We’ve set out to redefine maternity wear and to pioneer innovative products within this space,
bringing a fresh and modern approach to maternity fashion. Our collection is designed with meticulous attention to detail, using premium fabrics that provide comfort and durability. Made from buttery soft, double-lined, supportive, and malleable fabric, we didn’t compromise on it. We searched far and wide and tried and tested the fabric extensively. It stretches and rebounds to serve all of the seasons of womanhood and can be worn pre-, during, and post-pregnancy, making it the perfect sustainable base layer and investment for the future. How has your personal beauty and wellness philosophy influenced the ethos of Bumpsuit?
I feel truly connected to everything I create. It often comes into being because it’s something I would love to have as a mum, but I can’t seem to find it on my own.

Keep it simple! Narrow it down to what you really love and what works for you. Invest in anything timeless, sturdy, and versatile that can be styled in many different ways.

Bumpsuit embraces a holistic approach to wellness. Could you share your top wellness tips for mothers and mothers-to-be for maintaining balance and well-being during such a transformative time?
I like to approach this by bringing things into my days that make my life easier and can be a resolution for multiple things in one, I try to ‘kill 2 (or 3 or 4) birds with 1 stone’ a lot of the time. In the mornings, I wake up a little before my kids and focus on what I want to create and what I am thankful for that day while I do a simple self-care and beauty routine. I like to leave enough time in the mornings to connect with my children so there is an opportunity for bonding and connection. Having a Bumpsuit on hand has helped to streamline my mornings and get me ready to go while keeping me looking chic, put together, and ready for the day!
Being organized and having a supportive network is everything. Not feeling that mother’s guilt when it’s time to focus on business, but instead knowing that for your children to be able to see you in your power and doing your thing is so empowering for them to witness and to see the multifaceted reality that adults juggle. It will allow them permission to do the same one day when that time comes. But when it is time to be together, I will do that 100%. It’s practicing being disciplined enough to switch off from work, put on my mama hat, and quality our time together. There are also times when I bring them to work and allow them to see what I do and for them to feel a part of that aspect of my life, too.
