As the ultimate skincare enthusiasts, we cannot stress how important it is to incorporate a face mask into your skincare routine!

Masks can vary in their purpose from targeted treatments and quick-fixes, to detoxifying and rejuvenating self-care practices, there’s a mask for every skin type, concern and occasion.

What Is A Face Mask?

face mask is a skin care treatment that is often formulated to target a specific skincare concern. It’s important to address these concerns to improve the overall health and appearance of your skin. As we all know, healthy skin, is the most beautiful skin! Face masks can vary in form, texture, concentration and results. Some masks are to be left on for 5 minutes, others over night, while some are in a paste form and some are sheets.

FACE MASK BENEFITS

A face mask is a nourishing and concentrated treatment for the skin, that can help improve your skin’s health and your complexion. The results can be instantaneous. Masks help to provide a deeper clean, exfoliate away dead skin and draw out impurities to unclog pores while also refining the appearance of your skin. A mask can also improve skin tone and texture, make your skin smoother, softer, plumper and more hydrated, leaving you feeling fresh and revitalised. It could also help target discoloration, pigmentation and sun-damage.

WHICH FACE Mask SHOULD I USE?

A mask can be a relaxing pampering experience, but can also be a highly effective answer for any of your skin concerns, so it’s best to look at your skin type and what results you would like to achieve when choosing your mask.

You can use a mask to urgently address a specific concern that arises such as a skin brightening turmeric mask or hydrating mask for a special event, or a longer term solution to work on detoxifying your skin week after week.

The type of mask you use and when you use it can also depend on a few factors; your skin type and your climate or season. If you are prone to breakouts or have combination skin, a detoxifying mask that provides a deep clean to draw the impurities out of the skin, for a fresh glow is best. See our Turmeric Mask benefits here. In cooler weather or for drier skin, your skin can benefit from a hydrating face mask, to replenish hydration levels and restoring natural radiance.

When Do I Use A Face Mask?

A mask is an opportunity to pamper yourself. Take some down-time and revitalise your tired, dull skin whilst you relax or meditate. Clear your skin and your mind! You can even mask while completing other tasks such as reading, hanging the washing out or if it’s a clear mask, you can apply it whilst you run some errands. THE BEST WAY TO APPLY A FACE MASK

For optimum results, you want to apply any type of face mask to clean skin, so be sure to prep the skin by cleansing before you apply a mask.

If you are using a wash on/wash off mask cleanse your skin, apply your chosen mask with finger tips or a brush, while avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 5-15 minutes to let the mask work its magic and then remove with damp cloth in gentle, circular motions. You may notice a little bit of redness after use due to the increased circulation. No need to worry, redness should subside after 15-20 minutes.

If you are using an overnight mask, apply it after you cleanse or as the last step in your nighttime routine.

MULTIMASKING

You can also apply different masks to different areas for different concerns. In some regions, the climate will often dry the skin in the more delicate areas of the face, while the t-zone can be congested. In this instance, we recommend applying a detoxifying mask such as our Turmeric Mask in these zones that can experience sebum buildup, and a hydrating mask such as our Noni Glow Sleeping Mask in the areas that feel drier and need more nourishment. This way your skin benefits, targeting your exact needs.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR MASK WORK HARDER

At night, when the lights go out and our head hits the pillow our skin gets to work regenerating and repairing, while also losing moisture. Night is the optimum time to apply a treatment mask such as the Noni Glow Sleeping Mask – a lightweight bouncy gel that works to deeply hydrate and provide a protective veil while your skin regenerates during sleep. Using an overnight mask ensures you wake up with super-soft, hydrated and glowing skin.

There is something both routine and ritualistic about applying a face mask, it can provide you with that extra skin care boost on days your skin is needing a little TLC, as well as making you prioritise that much needed self-care time in your day, helping you nourish your mind, body and skin.

I am a 50 year old woman who has tried many products for my skin over the years. Being concerned about what I put on my skin has been a concern for me for some time so I decided to give Kora Organics a try. I purchased your Tumeric Mask, Vitamin C Serum and the Night Serum. Oh my goodness within 48 hours the whole texture of my skin has changed. It’s become soft, smooth and hydrated and feels years younger. I can’t stop singing your praises as I have been receiving so many compliments from my friends and family about how great I’m looking.
Thank you for your wonderful products, you have a converted new customer who is eternally grateful for her new healthy skin.
