How To Get Younger Looking Skin

How To Get Younger Looking Skin

Updated on 24th December 2023 at 4:41 pm

As we age, our bodies produce less and less collagen and elastin fibres each year. Natural hydration reserves are also decreased, and our skin can appear to become dry, dull and sunken in appearance.

This is a natural bodily process, quite well known as ageing—which begins from as early as our twenties, and steadily declines each decade on.

An empowered way to look at anti-ageing skin care is to simply replenish the skin.

With this mindset change, we are then taking it upon ourselves to give back to our skin; feeding it twice daily with the natural lipids, essential fatty acids, nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants it needs to flourish. Supporting our skin consistently both internally, and externally, to age with grace.

Our lovely contributors have shared their expertise to bring about a holistic viewpoint of the way we look at ageing.

MIND

Affirmations by Miranda

Miranda believes in the power of daily affirmations, and has worked with them throughout her career, and personal life. We also know the power of a positive mindset and as a result feature an affirmation on all our packaging.

We love this affirmation of gratitude and suggest reading it out loud three times in the mirror as you perform your skin ritual, morning and night:

“My body works tirelessly to protect me. I nourish it by making healthy choices and I support it with the goodness, love and respect it deserves.”

You may wish to have an affirmation selected for you via our free finder.

Tapping with Hayley Kelly

EFT otherwise known as tapping, is a great self-care tool to align with your daily skin ritual, to start and end the day with positivity while activating the subtle energy systems to bring about balance.

I love to nourish and moisturize from the inside out, particularly for maturing skin. This is a two-step process, for you need to support absorption, and boost your essential fatty acids and nutrients, to get the best results.

Step one is to support absorption!

Take 20ml of aloe vera juice or 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in 20ml of warm water before each meal. If you are concerned about the enamel of your teeth, you can use our Rejuv Digestive Complex capsules and take 1 before each meal.

Step two is boosting your antioxidant and essential fat levels, so your cells have all they need to hoover up age accelerating free radicals.

Eating all the colours of the rainbow each day is a good habit to implement to boost antioxidants and bombard your body with vitamin C, which is key for collagen forming.

This is why I personally use Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum every day so my body gets great bioavailable vitamin C, both inside and out.

Adding oily fish, nuts, seeds, olives and adding nut, olive and coconut oils to your life, will help your cell walls stay flexible, moisturize from the inside out and therefore reduce the signs of ageing.

Mature skin also responds particularly well to sweating, so get into a sauna regularly and sweat out excessive toxins to help you maintain that youthful glow! Adding the Noni Glow Face Oil is also a wonderful tool to hydrate your skin too.

Signs of this can be more apparent around the age of 35, when your body makes less collagen and elastin which is responsible for keeping your skins’ structure strong, flexible, and resilient.

And without these natural protections and attributes the skin shows the signs of maturing. For example: fine lines, wrinkles thinning and fragile skin.

Did you know that 90% of ageing is from the sun—and only 10% is genetics?

My greatest advice is wearing SPF even on a cloudy day!

Night time is when the body heals and repairs, so if you are not already using a replenishing cream at night, now is the time! My suggestion is a rich, hydrating moisturizer to fill your skin with the lipids it needs to appear bouncy and truly hydrated.

Vitamin C is also needed in plenty, internally and topically, every day to increase collagen levels and brighten the complexion.

My advice when it comes to a good anti-ageing skincare routine is hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
