JACQUI KINGSWELL REFRESH YOUR BODY

I feel now is the perfect time to refresh, re-centre and realign to get you back on track with your self-care routine leading up to the holiday period. Here are some of my favourite things to do that help me feel grounded and get me back into a productive regime.

Establish a Consistent Workout Routine

Even if that just means getting on your mat for 10 minutes every day. Morning movement can completely transform you and I always find that as soon as I get on my Pilates mat, I instantly feel grounded, connected and more open.

Every day is different, I really try to tune into my body and listen to what it needs on each day. Some days I’ll take an intense Pilates flow, other days I’ll do a stretch, or meditation. I’ll try to commit to getting on the mat at the same time every day for at least 5 days a week.

Getting into this routine after a busy few months always makes me feel reconnected to my mind and body.

Prepare your Meals on Sunday for the Week Ahead

I always feel the most prepared when I do all my grocery shopping and meal planning on a Sunday so that I know I’m going to be fuelling my body with nutrient dense foods to give me good energy for the entire week.

It also means you don’t have to think about what you’re going to be eating during a busy work week.

Currently, I’m following our 30-day recipe guide, Nourish Me, because every day is set out for me, it is so easy to follow and it has my favourite recipes in there.

Get Back into your Regular Sleep Routine

I make a point of going to bed at the same time at least six times per week. Getting a good night’s sleep is so important for your body and your body’s routine.

There are a few things I like to do to get back into my sleep routine such as reading, meditating, or a light stretch. I also recommend wearing blue light glasses or dimming the lights a few hours before your bedtime so that your eyes and mind can prepare for a good night’s sleep.

Minimise Alcohol Consumption

It’s always fun to socialise with friends and indulge in a wine or two, especially leading into the holiday season. However, I find it really important to minimise alcohol consumption, especially during the week, so that I can focus on my Pilates and wellness routine and wake up fresh. This is when I feel my best both physically and mentally.

For me, and this might sound crazy, but when I have one glass of wine, I find it affects my sleep and how I feel in the morning. And I really do enjoy feeling free from the effects of alcohol in my body!

Be Kind to Yourself

If you don’t hit all your goals, that’s ok. Everyone is working on their own schedule with varying commitments so by adopting even one of these practices, you are doing an amazing job and every little bit counts.
