Less is known about the capacity this potent antioxidant has in protecting our body’s largest organ, the skin, against the visible signs of aging from the damaging effect of oxidants found in the environment around us.
Collagen is a protein existing throughout the body, but found in significant amounts in the skin, where it provides plumpness, tautness and elasticity (aka youthful radiance!). The production and regulation of collagen levels is entirely dependant on the existence of Vitamin C.

This delicious, naturally sweet, smoothie recipe provides triple your daily recommendation of Vitamin C, with 4 of the highest plant based sources; strawberries, papaya, orange and lemon. I’ve added some Camu camu to lift the vitamin C even higher… but this is optional!
- 1 cup coconut water
- 1 cup orange (peeled & chopped)
- 4 strawberries
- 1⁄4 cup papaya (peeled & chopped)
- 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1⁄4 tsp Camu camu powder
- 1⁄4 cup coconut yoghurt
- Optional ~ 4 ice cubes
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Serve in a glass and enjoy
