Nourish your Body—Inside and Out

Wellness to me is all about nourishing my body, as well as my mind and spirit. Here is a page out of my Little Black Book of Wellness on nourishing the body both internally and externally.

EXERCISE

Exercise is so important to me as it makes me feel energized and ready for the day ahead. I try my best to schedule it in 3-4 times per week at a minimum, even if it’s just for 20 minutes. With a super busy schedule, sometimes it means that I may need to multitask to fit everything in — I’ve been known to do a Pilates session with a face mask on! Regular exercise is also great for your emotional wellbeing.

BREAKFAST

I love a fresh grapefruit each morning—they’re full of Vitamin C and fiber. I’ll eat a cut-half and sprinkle a little coconut sugar over the top. After that I’ll have a slice of gluten-free toast with a little ghee and avocado; ghee is a great alternative to butter. It contains omega fatty acids, Vitamin K, and short-chain triglycerides. Avocado is also a great source of healthy fats. I then add a little pink Himalayan sea salt and sometimes I may add a little fresh lemon or olive oil.

KUNDALINI YOGA

I love to practice Kundalini yoga, I see it as a complete mind, body, spirit exercise. Helping me to stay grounded and balanced throughout my day. The repetitions in the practice can be very challenging, teaching me the endurance and stamina needed for any obstacles that arise. It’s a great way to cultivate a healthy mind, and body.

NONI

I like to have my Noni Glow Skinfood Supplement with water or in my smoothie in the morning, and sometimes also in the afternoon for a healthy (caffeine free) pick-me-up. I’ve been drinking Noni since I was 13—it’s the key to my vitality and energy levels when taken both internally and externally. My blend contains Noni Fruit Extract, Acai, Blueberry, Pomegranate, Matcha Green Tea Extract, Rosehips, Chlorella, Mangosteen, and Elderberry Flower. It’s full of nutrients, it’s delicious, and it gives me an energy boost!

GROCERY SHOPPING

I love going grocery shopping and visiting the farmer’s markets. I choose local and organic produce, as the quicker it’s delivered from farm to table, the more nutrients it has. I really enjoy going to the supermarket too as there is always something new to find!

COOKING

The kitchen is the heart of my home. This is one of my favorite salads, along with grilled chicken. It’s a super simple yet very nutritious salad that is easy and quick to make! Simply mix your greens in a little bowl: · Spinach · Arugula · Radish · Green Beans · Cucumber (chopped finely) · Parsley (chopped finely) · Sprinkle with fresh lemon. Then create a light dressing to taste (I don’t use measurements!): · A squeeze of lemon · A dash of apple cider vinegar · Braggs Liquid Amino · A touch of olive oil · A pinch of pink Himalayan salt Then add the dressing to the greens and add avocado. Next grill a half chicken breast—first lightly pounding it between parchment paper. Being careful of fingers! Add a little sea salt and warm a grill pan. Once hot, add ghee and lightly grill. As the chicken is quite thin, it will cook quickly. Place the salad over the chicken and voila! Finally, I like to sit down and take the time to enjoy each and every bite. Miranda xxx
