We love Miranda’s daily skin care routine—for the same efficacy on our faces—as on our bodies. We call this body care routine for glowing skin, a facial for your body.

This article covers a powerful body care routine packed with soothing ingredients and botanical actives for healthier, glowing skin from head to toe. 

What Is A Good Body Routine for Glowing Skin?

The first thing to keep in mind is to choose Certified Organic.

We suggest following a daily skin care routine that is free from harsh chemicals, toxins, sulfates, parabens, phthalates, dyes and fragrances for your health and wellness.

Your skin is your largest organ and what you put on your skin soaks in. It’s also important to know that the skin on your body is just as important as the skin on your face. We love this body care routine as it’s as easy and enjoyable as having a facial skin care routine.

Firstly, cleansing and removing dead skin cells is an important aspect to our body routine for glowing skin. When your skin is smooth and supple it can reflect light – so you glow inside and out! As is sealing it all in with moisture and hydration as the final steps.

Practice a daily body skincare routine to solidify healthy habits for your skin. We suggest applying products once, or twice, daily from the lightest to thickest formula.

Skin Care Step 1: Dry Body Brush 

The benefits of dry brushing are vast.

We love it to exfoliate the skin and unclog pores. Boost circulation and the immune system. Polish the skin and promote skin cell turnover. Dry brushing also gifts the skin with fresh oxygenated blood which is great for skin elasticity (what gives us glowing skin, youthful looks, and help to rid cellulite). Yet many don’t realise how invigorating it is for the mind!

A dry body brush in the morning is both awakening and revitalizing as it gets the circulation going under the skin to promote lymphatic drainage and toxin release. The act of daily dry body brushing is often overlooked, yet something that Miranda practices daily!

We love our Dry Body Brush in our skincare routine for soft-on-skin yet firm bristles to get the blood pumping. The advice is to sweep in upward strokes towards the heart, and to avoid very dry patches, flaky skin, or areas of sensitivity or skin irritation. Although is it good to note that dry body brushing is for all skin types and skin concerns.

Skin Care Step 2: Cleanse

For glowing skin we suggest cleansing the body morning and night, as we do with our face. Cleansing helps to clear dirt, oil, dead skin cells and impurities from the surface of the skin.

When choosing a body cleanser it’s important to do research, to find a product that is pH balanced and won’t strip your skin, like bar soap will. This is vital to remember for oily skin and acne prone skin, as well as for sensitive skin too.

Another reason for cleansing the body is to ready your skin before applying your body care routine. Ensuring you are removing any makeup residue from your neck and décolletage too.

Kylie Wells, our Beauty Writer, notes that for dry skin it’s “important to not use hot water in the shower, as it can also strip your skin of natural oils. Lukewarm water is suggested.”

Skin Care Step 3: Exfoliate

Many people exfoliate their faces, but forget their bodies. The truth is that the skin on our bodies is thicker and tougher, often as a result of daily habits and skin damage. So to exfoliate the skin on the body, a scrub needs to be formulated specifically for our bodily skin.

It’s good to note that body scrubs can have both physical exfoliants, as well chemical exfoliants. A good body-formulated scrub has both these properties to assist with clogged pores, ingrown hairs, dark spots, and to address body skin conditions such as Keratosis Pilaris.

This condition is the appearance of white bumps under the skin, often around the arms and thighs, known loosely as strawberry skin. Lactic Acid is needed to help address these unwanted bumps, it’s included in our Turmeric Body Scrub to help loosen this congestion, alongside Papaya Enzymes and Rosehip Seeds to work their magic on rough and bumpy skin as well.

A scrub is an easy fix to dulling dead skin cells, and a step we suggest adding to your daily skin care routine. If you cannot do it daily, try at least once or twice weekly as a more extensive body care moment. Think of it as putting on a body mask, just like you would your face.

Exfoliate regularly to remove dead skin cells, apply in circular motions, pre or mid shower, to keep your skin smooth. We love our Turmeric-infused scrub to polish away dead skin and impurities without disrupting the skin’s natural barrier!

Skin Care Step 4: Moisturizer

After taking away what you don’t want, it’s vital to give some nourishment and hydration back to your skin.

It doesn’t matter your skin type; whether you have normal skin, sensitive skin, oily skin or combination skin—moisturizing with a body cream is key. We always suggest an organic moisturizing lotion to replenish hydration levels for glowing skin. This is a key step in your daily skin care routine.

Acne breakouts can be present on the face and the body, so for this skin type, finding a balanced body lotion to address hydration with organic moisturizing ingredients, is as important as finding a blend that is not heavy with coconut oil, shea butter, body butter or heavy ingredients.

Skin Care Step 5: Body Oil

Adding an oil to your skin care routine is important to feed your skin with essential fatty acids and antioxidant-rich moisture.

The skin on our bodies is thicker, and often thirstier, which is why an oil is preferred over a body serum. We suggest a blend of organic oils to gain the varying qualities of each plant source. Adding a few drops each morning to your skin care routine can lock in hydration and give you protection against environmental factors.

A treatment oil is an ideal way to prevent stretch marks and also to target cellulite. Expanding your skin care routine to include a daily oil massage is an optimal way to tone and firm your skin as well.
