Miranda’s Favorite Self-Care Rituals

Setting aside time to take care of yourself is fundamental to our overall health and wellbeing, and we shouldn’t see it as self-indulgence or feel guilty about it.

For us to give our best, we need to feel our best and for me I think one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned, particularly since becoming a Mom, is the importance of dedicating time each day to meditate, exercise or something that I enjoy. This way, I feel much more balanced and am able to give so much more to my family, my work and my friends.

During the COVID-19 lock down, I’ve been waking up a little earlier than usual so I can have at least 45 minutes to myself before the kids wake up. That’s when I try to do my morning meditation and my skincare ritual with no interruptions – bliss! Having this time to myself also helps me start the day with a calm, positive mindset.

Self-care has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, I grew up in a family that taught me the importance of health, wellness and self-care from a young age – where self-care practices were a part of everyday life for us, just like cleaning my teeth and brushing my hair.

I’ve been practicing meditation and yoga since my late teens. It has been such a great tool for me to stay calm and centred in the busy world we live in. I try to meditate at least once to twice a day –generally morning and night. In the morning it helps me to set my intention for the day, so I start the day with a positive mindset, and at night it’s a great way to let go of the day and unwind for a restful sleep. I also practice Kundalini yoga a few times a week, it’s the yoga of awareness and is based on a method to awaken your senses and consciousness – it connects with the mind, body and soul.

Maintaining my skincare routine, morning and night is time I really value, even though it may just be 5 or 10 minutes. I’ve been doing a lot of masks too recently, with my Turmeric 2:1 Brightening & Exfoliating Mask and the Noni Glow Sleeping Mask, as well as using my Rose Quartz Heart Facial Sculptor daily to give myself Gua Sha facial massages, this is also a great tool to use throughout the day to help relieve tension and ease pressure points.

Below are some of the products that form part of my most loved self-care rituals;

Dry Body Brush

Incorporating dry body brushing into your morning care ritual encourages the renewal of fresh, healthy skin, improves circulation and skin tone, promotes lymphatic drainage to help eliminate toxins and enhances the application of lotion and oils. This is something that I really believe makes a difference to my overall wellness and also my skins tone and texture – particularly on the butt and thighs.

Water Bottle with Rose Quartz

I believe in the vibrations of crystals and this Self-Love glass water bottle brings your water in harmony with rose quartz crystals, bringing self-love, positive energy and also adding a little bit of magic it brings to your day!

Matter & Home Love Candle

My friend Holly Star is an energy healer and makes these beautiful soy candles with crushed gemstones and energetic properties – I think it’s more important than ever to have things around you that help you feel uplifted and energized. This candle is based on the intention of LOVE and contains Jasmine to help soften and open the heart and ylang ylang to help balance energy.

Energy Clearing Kit

I love to ground myself with crystals, meditation and clearing tools, including Palo Santo and sage, along with many other wellness practices. In this Energy Clearing Ritual Kit, I have included my favourite crystals, and a ritual I practice to center and reset. I have incorporated Rose Quartz, for its soothing energy of self-love that supports: Love, Happiness, Healing, Intuition. In addition, Amethyst is included to support: Positivity, Motivation, Balance, and Clear Quartz to support: Harmony, Calmness, Clarity. The ritual kit also includes Palo Santo, also known as “holy wood” and a candle. I travel with this little kit everywhere I go.

Glowing Essentials

At home facials using Turmeric 2:1 Exfoliating & Brightening Mask and Noni Glow Face Oil for that post spa glow. This powerhouse duo combines two of my favourite products to create the perfect mini facial to keep my skin radiant and glowing! The Exfoliating & Brightening 2:1 Turmeric Mask brightens, deeply cleanses, reduces inflammation and evens skin tone and the Noni Glow Face Oil contains a rich source of antioxidants and essential fatty acids to smooth, nourish, hydrate and brighten the skin.

As I mentioned, I’ve been doing a lot more masks lately and I love the combination of both the Turmeric 2:1 Exfoliating & Brightening Mask and the Noni Glow Sleeping Mask. I apply the Turmeric Mask on my t-zone and across my cheeks to help clear and decongest the skin, and then apply the Noni Glow Sleeping Mask to the remaining area to help hydrate and plump the skin.

Body Care Duo

Noni Glow Body Oil with Enriched Body Lotion for ultra-hydrated and glowing skin. The Enriched Body Lotion is the ultimate all over body moisturiser. I love to add a few drops of the Noni Glow Body Oil to the lotion for deeper nourishment and protection. I also used these products throughout my three pregnancies and post-birth to assist and support my skin as it stretched to accommodate my growing baby.

I hope you take some time to look after yourself, so we can best look after each other.

Much love,

Miranda xxx
