In honor of International Women’s Day—our inspiring founder & CEO—Miranda Kerr, wants to shine a light on some of her favorite female founders disrupting the beauty and wellness spaces.
We love this day to celebrate the aspirational creators we follow—and to share some of the clean brands Miranda and our team love too.
Lauryn Bosstick | The Skinny Confidential
The founder and creator behind The Skinny Confidential is the savvy Lauryn Evarts Bosstick—which birthed the “beauty, wellness & no-censor advice” online blog that graces many screens daily.
Her monthly subscription and authored book offer workouts and meal plans, and her “cheeky entrepreneurial podcast,” Him & Her Podcast, is a favored go-to and described by Lauren as like “attending happy hour with your best friends.”
This inspiring founder is also a wife and mother to a daughter and two chihuahuas.
Katherine Power | Merit & Avaline
Katherine is the founder of MERIT Beauty and co-founder of Avaline (with the well-known Cameron Diaz) to create wine with “organic grapes and little else.”
Known for having the “golden touch” when it comes to brand building. We revere the way she leads to embrace clean and planet friendly beauty products—with luxe desirability and functionality.
This inspiring leader has been the face and movement behind many cult-followed brands and blogs—and shines bright in the entrepreneurial sphere.
Michelle Pfeiffer | Henry Rose
The well-known actress, Michelle Pfeiffer, has a line-up of desirable and recognisable fragrances that are both EWG Verified™ and Cradle to Cradle Certified™; embracing the cleanest standards in the fragrance industry.
Henry Rose is revered for a touch of luxury with on-trend scents and styling—and certifications that bring relief.
This is a brand we love to see making its presence known in the chemical-filled scent industry yet with elegance and wellness in mind.
Sasha Plavsic | Ilia
Sasha initially founded ILIA to overcome her personal journey with her skin—and has purposefully garnered it into the innovative name it is today: a clean beauty brand known for “innovative, skin-centric formulas with vivid colors”—and a “fuss-free” approach.
This inspiring leader continues to challenge the status quo that clean beauty and natural beauty aren’t as effective.
A passion that Miranda and Sasha both share. As well as their desire for quality, transparency, sustainability.
Nancy Twine | Briogeo
This founder’s philosophy is to “treat our hair the same way we treat our skin; by nurturing it with ingredients that detoxify, hydrate, and protect.” Values Miranda aligns with too.
Nancy made her foray into creating natural haircare formulas in her youth as inspired by her grandmother—and then moved to New York City to work in finance—which eventually led to founding Briogeo Hair Care in her tiny East Village studio apartment.
Briogeo is known to take it back to basics, with a “high-performance, hair care collection” that is “naturally based, yet performance driven to provide visible results.”
Amy Lieu | Tower28
Amy Lieu is the founder and CEO of Tower 28, a beauty company born and bred in Santa Monica, California. Her ethos is to be “inclusive of all skin tones, skin types, budgets, and beauty philosophies.”
Calling on her background in cosmetics, Amy has used her 15 years of beauty expertise after working with fast-growing brands such as Smashbox, Kate Somerville and Josie Maran Cosmetics, to give her the confidence and drive, to begin her line.
Amy quotes the same fact that we do, stating that “what goes on your skin also goes in your bloodstream.” Which is her why to create products that are “non-toxic, free of sensitizing irritants, and full of calming, nourishing ingredients.” Not to mention being vegan and cruelty-free.
Yet her mark on the industry is that she creates products also with a healthy dose of fun.
Megan Roup – The Sculpt Society
We admire the passion Megan has for dance and fitness—and her dream to make working out, fun. Her fused background of dancing and fitness training led her to feel there was something missing in her boutique fitness community.
This inspired the development of The Sculpt Society method in 2017, a dance-based fitness app that “empowers women through movement, to stand in their bodies with confidence and strength, and to feel their best self.”
Our team love the The Sculpt Society workouts—as does Miranda!
Babba Rivera | Ceremonia
Ceremonia is a clean haircare brand rooted in Latinx heritage. Founded by Babba Rivera to “manifest modern-day rituals, stemming from rich culture, that feed your hair from the roots and beyond,” from her belief that “hair wellness is the key to unlocking the best hair days.”
This brand takes an active stance on sustainability; making a “commitment to create a brand of the future that cares about people and the earth.” As well as by creating “nutrient-rich cocktails of raw ingredients straight from nature.”
Babba leads this “totally clean and naturally derived” brand with integrity and authenticity—to “shift the haircare market by making toxin-free products more accessible.” A sentiment we adore and agree with too!
Anastasia Soare | Anastasia Beverly Hills
Anastasia Soare is the Romanian-born (and self-made) founder and CEO, of self-titled Anastasia Beverly Hills—and the creative visionary behind the fast-growing make-up brand.
Known for her cult-classic brow shaping products which have received numerous accolades—aptly referenced as the “brow revolution.”
Anastasia is known to be a beauty pioneer continuing to inspire and lead; pushing boundaries with innovation in the beauty space.
We enjoy celebrating female founders who are creating well-intentioned brands that share a parallel mission to prioritize natural, safe and effective beauty products. Because as we say: healthy skin is the most beautiful skin.
With love,
KORA Organics
