Gents! Are you neglecting your skin?
My name is Matty Kerr and I’m the Education Coordinator for KORA Organics and also Miranda‘s younger brother!
Have you ever thought about your skin wondered how you could look after it better?
That’s where I come in! I’m here to chat with you guys about what I would recommend for your daily skincare routine. I’d also like to give you some advice on other great products that you can also use regularly to help with blemishes, minimize ageing and wrinkles, improve skin tone and texture and more.
Consistency is key when it comes to looking after skin (male or female) but hey, I get it, it can all be a little bit confusing and daunting if you’ve never had a skincare routine before or don’t know where to start.
We have all tried skin care products with hopes to get great results overnight. Unfortunately it’s not that easy. When you’re consistent and take care of your skin, your skin has the ability to regenerate faster which in turn, makes your skincare products work a lot quicker, which will help your skin look better and feel better in the long run.
Hands up if you use your soap to wash your face most mornings? Most soaps contain ingredients that can deplete the skin of its natural oils causing your skin to dry out which is not good for your complexion.
Step 1 - Cleanse
The Foaming Cleanser is suitable for all skin types but I find most men like to have a foaming cleanser. Men’s skin tends to produce more sebum (oil), it’s thicker and tends to have larger pores which can lead to developing more blackheads and spots.
The Foaming Cleanser is a soap-free cleanser formulated with certified organic Noni Fruit and Green Tea Extracts, Sandalwood Oil combined with Aloe Vera. Key ingredients Green Tea and Sandalwood are great for skin types that tend to be on the oily side, thanks to their antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Using the KORA Organics Foaming Cleanser is a great way to help eliminate those excess oils, open those pores and thoroughly cleanse while still keeping the face hydrated. I use this every morning and night.
How to apply:
Gently massage a small amount of product using a circular motion onto your damp face, neck and décolletage. I use this in the shower so it’s ready at hand and serves as a reminder. Make sure to cleanse for at least 30 seconds, then rinse and pat dry. If you don’t cleanse first, the rest of the products I’m about to talk about won’t be as effective as they can be.
Step 2 - Mist
Facial mists act as your toner. My favourite is the Energizing Citrus Mist! It’s suitable for all skin types and reminds me of lemon meringue pie!
A refreshing facial mist, it’s uplifting blend of Noni Extract, Aloe Vera, Lemongrass and Mandarin essential oils awakens the senses and invigorates your skin. I also find this helps minimise the appearance of my pores.
How to apply:
It’s so simple and that’s what I love about it! Simply spritz that magic mist directly onto face after cleansing to tone before moisturising, or throughout the day to maintain skin freshness. I use this morning and night.

Step 3 - Moisturize
I use the Soothing Moisturiser which is great for all skin types but specifically sensitive skin. I find this is hydrating for the skin while still being able to look after that sensitivity thanks to key ingredients Lavender, Evening Primrose and Chamomile.
Depending on your skin type or even your occupation you could reach for the Hydrating Moisturizer if you’ve been outside in the elements or the Purifying Moisturizer if you’re an Oily/Combination skin type. Our moisturizers also contain Sodium Hyaluronate, a natural Hyaluronic Acid, which essentially acts as a sponge, drawing water from the atmosphere – resulting in hydrated and smoother skin. Pretty cool huh?
How to apply:
Massage a small amount into your face, neck and décolletage after cleansing and misting. I also use this both morning and night.
This simple process of Cleanse, Mist and Moisturize is the foundation for healthy, beautiful skin and is the minimum I would recommend if you want to look after your skin.
What’s also great about these products is that they are certified organic and contain none of the nasty chemicals normally found in skin care products.
Other go-to products I love and use!
Nothing gives me fast and effective results like the Turmeric Brightening and Exfoliating Mask. It detoxes and cleanses your pores and refines your skin.
Turmeric supports inflammation reduction, brightens and helps protect against environmental aging. The peppermint essential oil delivers an overall invigorating and uplifting experience and smells like a peppermint pattie!
Use it as a scrub to polish the skin and a leave-on mask for a skin resurfacing & refining treatment. I use this 2 to 3 times a week, mostly for the exfoliating benefits and I tend to use this in the shower making sure I cleanse before I exfoliate.

If you have sensitive skin, skin with rosacea or eczema, swap out the Foaming Cleanser for the Cream Cleanser and the Energizing Citrus Mist for the Calming Lavender Mist.
I would also add the Noni Glow Face Oil – it’s an incredibly gentle and rejuvenating facial oil and should be used after the mist and before the Soothing Moisturizer.
The Noni Glow Body Balm – with coconut and peppermint housing antibacterial properties, this product can be applied straight onto the skin without any worry of bacteria build up on the product. It’s hydrating for the body and I have found it’s great for anybody with skin irritations.
Chemicals in laundry powders or detergents can sometimes play up on my skin and I have found that this product has helped with my skin. Instead of using chemical ridden deodorants, I also apply the Noni Glow Body Balm underneath my arm pits and use it to help kill any bacteria and also keep me hydrated and smelling fresh.

Matty
I love this post – I showed it to my husband (who has his own range of Kora products – after stealing mine!). He was struggling with maintaining hydration for the skin. The problem he experienced was finding products that do what they say, and are actually good for the skin – and targeted the male demographic. So, I got him onto my products from Kora and even though he has extremely sensitive (30-something year old) skin, they work like a charm. Matty – thank you for teaching women about skincare, but also, thank you for showing men it’s okay to take care of their skin too.
I read and I loved! Thanks for sharing that brother. Sending good wishes from Türkiye!??
