As a team we revel in clean living and enjoy taking a holistic approach to well-being as well as to environmental health.
While we focus on what sustainability means to us, this month—and this year—we want to share five ways we embrace this lifestyle in our daily life. As well as why we’ve committed to become Climate Neutral certified, and how being Certified Organic cares not only for your body but for the environment too.
Go Certified Organic
We suggest keeping it clean and leaving the unnecessary nasty chemicals behind.
Toxic chemicals can be commonly found in everyday skincare and beauty products, as well as household cleaning products in high numbers. In today’s world, making yourself familiar with exactly what you’re putting on your skin, and in your body, is imperative.
All KORA skincare is cruelty-free and formulated with highly active Certified Organic ingredients that deliver powerful results—leaving your skin healthy, glowing, and radiant.
Ditching unnecessary toxins and chemicals is one thing we can control. Choose wisely. And look out for a trusted Certified Organic logo.
Read Labels—Learn Your Ingredients
We’re often fooled by what’s in our favorite beauty must-haves. This is mainly due to the lack of regulations in using these terms. Manufacturers can mislead consumers to believe a product is ‘organic’ or ‘natural’, yet it can still contain a myriad of toxins and chemicals. This is commonly known as “greenwashing.”
The way you can control what you put on your skin, in your body, and in your home is to read the labels, do your research, and know your products inside and out.
Buy Refillable—Recyclable—Reusable
Our health is also greatly affected by the health of Mother Earth. We feel that taking care of ourselves, and the beautiful world we live in, are of equal importance.
At KORA, all products from 2021 on will only use recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable materials in all primary and secondary packaging, where possible. We are striving to have all existing products repackaged to be more sustainable over the next three years and plan to incorporate refillable options when possible (like our Turmeric Glow Moisturizer with a refill pod). We will be using more glass, aluminum, post-consumer resin and recycled FSC/biodegradable paper for our packaging.
Let’s reduce, reuse, recycle, and replenish for healthier skin and a healthier planet. You might like some of Miranda’s Tips & Tricks too!
Know How + Where Your Ingredients Come From
Ask for transparency from the brands you align with.
If you can find out the source of the ingredients that make up your products, you can learn exactly what you’re putting in your system.
When it comes to farming and harvesting the ingredients that go into each of KORA’s skincare products, they are Certified Organic by Ecocert/COSMOS, which is an independent global certification body that guarantees products and the ingredients we use are genuinely organic and produced to the highest feasible sustainability practices. Everything from the ingredients to the manufacturing facilities to the packaging materials must be reviewed, approved, and audited by Ecocert/COSMOS. By having our products independently reviewed and accredited to this standard, you can trust that our products are organic and produced sustainably.
The Ecocert/COSMOS Organic certification guarantees responsible use of natural resources, respecting biodiversity, no GMOs, petrochemicals, artificial colors or artificial fragrances, recyclable packaging, and cruelty free.
For this reason, we really admire the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF). Their organic farming techniques, and advocacy effort provides a safer, more sustainable environment for all.
OFRF is dedicated to inspiring, educating and informing the public about organic farming, and how organic farms support healthy and resilient people, ecosystems, and economies. Their main mission is to foster the improvement and widespread adoption of organic farming systems by cultivating organic research, education, and policies that bring more farmers and acreage into organic production. To learn more about the ways regenerative organic farming practices can help us fight climate change and increase farm resilience and discover how you can help with OFRF’s Organic for Climate.

Look For Climate Neutral
Just like checking your products for their Certified Organic certifications, you can now check for their status to be Climate Neutral.
In 2021 we partnered with Climate Neutral, a non-profit organization that is helping us work toward carbon neutrality by measuring and offsetting our carbon footprint, annually; while also working to reduce future emissions.
Climate Neutral will measure our annual carbon emissions, which then prompts us to purchase verified carbon credits to offset our total footprint. These carbon credits fund projects across the globe, which help combat climate change and replenish the environment. Some of their initiatives include planting trees, creating water filtration systems, and promoting renewable energy sources.
We are thrilled to align with such a great initiative for 2022—and beyond.
This month we’re shining a spotlight on the Organic Farming Research Foundation to support the foundation in their plight to educate farmers to create healthier soils, and healthier harvests.
We proudly support this friendly organization as they advocate “Organic for Climate” and educate on how organic farming is more eco-friendly. Their mission is to foster the improvement and widespread adoption of organic farming systems—working to cultivate organic research, education, and federal policies that bring more farmers into organic production.
As part of our KORA Cares initiative, you will be able to donate to OFRF when placing an order.
We always say, a few small consistent changes make for more graceful and widespread change.
Join us in making 2022 our cleanest year, yet!
With love,
KORA Organics
Using certified organic products that don’t contain ‘junk’ chemicals on the skin does make a difference. We’ve all heard that the skin is one’s largest organ – so slathering it in ‘junk’ chemicals has a ripple effect on the entire system of the body. Sound extreme? Try using only KORA products faithfully for ten days, then decide for yourself. #KORAFaithful
