Being able to find tools to maintain balance within our self is essential in today’s fast-paced world. From my personal experience of practicing yoga and meditation for the last 15 years, I have learned that everything in our external world is a reflection of our inner world. To achieve the calm we desire in our everyday lives, it is essential to create it first within ourselves.
Below are some helpful practices which you can incorporate on a daily basis to feel more balanced and joyful:
A prayerful heart = A prayerful mind.
Here is an example of a short prayer to use daily to keep your heart and mind balanced throughout your day.
“I pray for peace within me, peace around me, and peace to all I meet. I pray for love and kindness within me, love and kindness around me, and love and kindness to all I meet. May I be peace, love, and kindness.”
Affirmations are a great way to keep the mind positive. Your thoughts are powerful and it is important to maintain positive thoughts and feelings about yourself. Here is an example of a simple affirmation to keep you in a flow of gratitude.
Close your eyes and recite this (out loud or silently for 3 mins):
“I am Healthy, Happy, and at Ease.”
Here is a great Kundalini Meditation to Balance the Emotions:
Continue for 3 – 10 min. At the end, you’ll chant “Satnam.”
To begin you’ll chant – “Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo.”
“I call on infinite creative consciousness, I call on divine wisdom.”

Sit in a cross-legged position on the floor or in a chair with the feet flat on the floor) bring the left thumb and index finger touching and resting on the left knee.
Bring the right hand up to nose level, fingers together and pointed up.
Use the thumb to close the right nostril as you inhale deeply through the left nostril.
Then use your little finger to block the left nostril as you exhale deeply through the right nostril.
I encourage you to add at least one of these practices into your daily routine. Give it one-two weeks of commitment and enjoy the amazing results!
