The Equinox brings with it significant change as we transition from the out-ward energy of summer to the more in-ward energy of Fall and slowing down.
The Fall Equinox lands on September 22nd. This is a day where light and dark are balanced in the northern hemispheres. As the day and night (light and dark), balance on this day it helps to remind us that we too can invite balance into our lives.
We can approach the energy that the Equinox carries as an invitation to reflect on the direction we are heading. We can choose to decide whether we want to continue on in this current direction or steer our course into another.
As you watch nature slowing down and the environment around you growing more quiet, you may find yourself craving more sleep and general rest. You may find that when you continue to go at the speed you were during the summer that it takes more energy or that you are more fatigued at the end of the day. When you have these feelings I invite you to listen to them, be in the moment and honor them. When we honor how we intuitively feel, we will excel mentally, physically and emotionally in all parts of life.
Here are a few ways to celebrate the Fall Equinox and create something meaningful for you, your family and friends.
1.Self Care: This is a great invitation to light candles, take a bath, meditate and journal. I have included a very relaxing meditation here and below for you to experience. Yes, meditating is also part of self-care and one that I use everyday!

2. Create a list of things you are grateful for. Universal Energy loves a grateful heart, and provides more abundance to us when we give gratitude for the things we have. You can also use gratitude as a prayer for the things you may want to bring in and those you wish to release. The list can be as short or long as you like. Simple things like a smile, a child’s laugh and nourishing foods are some examples you may draw some inspiration from.
3. If you have children, explore with them the concept of these seasonal transitions by walking in nature with them, exploring the changing leaves on the trees or even the smells in the air. Teach them about nature’s natural ability to transition with ease.
When Fall arrives I always feel these shifts, even within the foods I crave. I begin to want different foods that are usually associated with the Fall harvest. For example, as much as I love juicing, recently it doesn’t feel as appealing to me. Right when my body spoke to me I realized it was time to let go of the Summer foods and make my transition. I like to eat intuitively, so I listen to my body and to what it’s truly needing.
In Astrology, September 9th 2020 marks the transition of the planet Mars retrograding in Aries. When a planet retrogrades it invites us to reflect and review our previous choices. This month is special because we are getting multiple invitations for reflection, rest and slowing down. It is all about compassion, balance and honoring how we feel so that we can know when and where to put our energy and when we need to slow down and be still.
May this Fall Equinox bring peace in your heart, courage from your soul and compassion to see the light within all living beings.
Sending love to you all on this Fall Equinox.
