Clean beauty is a wide term that has little to no industry regulation—which is why we pride ourselves on being the highest certified level of clean: Certified Organic.
While many Clean Beauty products exclude obvious toxins like sulfates and parabens, the Clean Beauty Movement can still allow for synthetic, or inorganic ingredients, deemed as safe.
We applaud that customers are educating themselves on what exactly is in their products and asking for brands to have more transparency and join the movement towards cleaner skincare.
As with all things at KORA Organics, we honor skin health as we do body health. That’s why we’ve chosen to certify our products through Ecocert/COSMOS to be proudly Certified Organic: free of herbicides, pesticides, petrochemicals, artificial colors or artificial fragrances.
Read on as we take a deep dive into why we go the extra mile, to be Certified Organic.
Did you know that natural products could be just as harmful as synthetic ones?
The terms Natural or Organic have no guarantees to be safe and effective. Just as Clean Beauty has no certification guarantee either.
Uncertified products may have one or two safer ingredients yet still be heavy with cheap filler ingredients that are both inorganic and toxic to the body.
For example, let’s speak about a serum with an industry standard of 12% active ingredient. The question you need to ask yourself is: what is in the remaining 88% percent of this serum? Are they cheap filler ingredients toxic to the body?
It’s important to educate yourself on ingredients to know what you are putting into your body and look beyond marketing terms.
We suggest empowering yourself by reading your labels and doing your research on ingredients and products that make it to your beauty shelf.

Why Choose Certified Organic Skincare?
More Antioxidants
Did you know that organically grown fruits and vegetables, like the ones used in all KORA Organics products, may produce up to 60% more* antioxidants than non-organic fruits and vegetables.
Which is why opting for the cleanest beauty—Certified Organic—can also produces better results!
Health is Wellness
Miranda has long said that: “What you put on your skin soaks into your bloodstream, use Certified Organic!”
We love what Dr. Simone Laubscher says about how toxins and inorganic ingredients can lead to a host of health issues and disease, and how to combat it.
Peace of Mind
We’ve done the work for you, by certifying our products through Ecocert/COSMOS. We do this because products without certification have no guarantees of being Clean, Natural or Organic.
By choosing KORA Organics, you are choosing the highest certifications and cleanest skincare on the market.
“Being Certified Organic is a rigorous and time-consuming process. Everything we do has to be approved — from not only an ingredient and formulation standpoint but also the packaging (internally & externally), as well all the verbiage that’s written on the packaging. This gives the assurance to the customer that they are getting what they are paying for – clean, quality Certified Organic skincare.” – Miranda Kerr, Founder & CEO.
What is Certified Organic?
Certified Organic is the most heavily regulated ingredient system in the world and guarantees products and the ingredients we use are genuinely organic and produced to the highest feasible sustainability practices.
Everything from the ingredients to the manufacturing facilities to the packaging materials must be reviewed, approved and audited by Ecocert/COSMOS.
By having our products independently reviewed and accredited to this standard, our customers can trust that our products are what they claim to be.
What’s Involved in the Certification Process?
The certification process includes a yearly audit of all registered companies, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure compliance with the strict regulations set out by the certification body.
Certification includes inspections of farm fields and processing facilities, detailed record-keeping, and periodic testing of soil and water to ensure that growers and handlers are meeting the standards which have been set. Certified Organic foods and fibre are spared the application of toxic and persistent insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers.
In the long run, organic farming techniques provide a safer, more sustainable environment for everyone and more and more people are becoming aware of the benefits of using and consuming certified organic products and foods.
Why Do we Ensure our Products are Certified?
The COSMOS-standard is a cosmetic certification developed to harmonize various certifications and labels in order to create one standard that is internationally recognized for natural and organic cosmetics. The main goal is to uphold the inspection and certification of organic and ecological products, eco-friendly systems, and respect for the environment throughout the production chain.
The COSMOS-standard core principles include:
- Promoting the use of products from organic agriculture, and respecting biodiversity
- Using natural resources responsibly and respecting the environment
- Using processing and manufacturing that are clean and respectful of human health and environment
- Integrating and developing the concept of “Green Chemistry” instead of using petrochemicals
- Providing transparency for consumers.
At KORA Organics, we believe that healthy skin is the most beautiful skin, and we will forever strive to bring you products that are of the highest quality and integrity.
We say: read your labels and do your research as what you put on your skin, soaks in, use Certified Organic!
With love,
KORA Organics
