Recently we announced that in addition to being Certified Organic through COSMOS, three products from the KORA Organics range have also been EWG Verified, the Noni Glow Face Oil, Noni Glow Body Oil and our Noni Night AHA Resurfacing Serum. Here we break down who EWG is and what it means to have our products verified under their standards.

What is EWG?

The Environmental Working Group or EWG is a non-profit, non-artisan organisation that is dedicated to protecting human health and the environment through the work they do.

Their mission:

“To empower people to live healthier lives in a healthier environment. With breakthrough research and education, we drive consumer choice and civic action.”

EWG work on questioning the everyday norm, such as what’s in my everyday beauty or cleaning products, what’s in the water, soil, and air in my local area, or even what are GMOs and how do they effect the land and water?

They have worked over the last two decades and continue to work, on getting the answers to questions that you would or should ask to empower you to make informed decisions to protect your health and the health of your family.

EWG’s research and team of industry experts and programmers work tirelessly to make sure someone is bringing public health to the political forefront.

Is KORA Organics EWG Verified?

Although EWG’s largest audience is based in the U.S., EWG has over 16 million unique users from 196 countries worldwide use their various platforms, with some of the top countries including Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and South Korea.

The EWG Verified mark recognizes products that meet EWG’s strictest criteria for transparency and health. Products with the EWG Verified mark, avoid the EWG ingredients of concern, meaning products cannot contain any ingredients on EWG’s “Unacceptable” list, meaning ingredients with health, ecotoxicity and/or contamination concerns. The EWG mark also means brands must provide full transparency when it comes to ingredient disclosure on the label and to EWG including fragrance ingredients as well as follow good manufacturing processes to ensure product safety.

What Does EWG Verified Mean For KORA?

Being EWG Verified further underscores KORA’s commitment to clean and transparency across the skincare market in the U.S. and around the globe. It is Miranda’s hope that this mark on the KORA Organics range will give our brand further integrity & trust with our customers.

EWG’s work is extremely critical to the beauty industry because it is not only getting the message out there, but creating greater awareness around the need for brands to innovate and evolve the market with healthy and safer consumer products.

At the end of the day, health is wealth and part of that is empowering yourself with the information and knowledge to make healthier and educated decisions on what products you use, consumer or invest in.

With love,

KORA Organics
