The Year of the Fire Rooster Feng Shui by Anita Rosenberg

The Year of the Fire Rooster Feng Shui by Anita Rosenberg

February 3, 2017 launches the Chinese New Year of the Bing You or Fire Rooster. Within the Feng Shui of your space there are stars or energy patterns that show up in each sector. The goal is to activate the good stars and keep the bad ones quiet. How to do this? Use the auspicious sectors more often. It’s like tuning into the wi-fi signal and receiving a full ban. The more often you are in these areas the more you attract good Qi into your life, which in turn make you happier, healthier and more successful. Who doesn’t want that?

What to do?
Take your compass and stand in the middle of your house. Map out the sectors according to the pie-shape of the directions. The three best sectors to activate and use more often in 2017 are:

EAST – attracts wealth, finance & cash flow
SOUTHEAST – attracts happy events, promotions & sales opportunities
NORTH – attracts power, authority, good name & leadership

Here are the good sectors to use:

EAST is one of the top 3 sectors to activate in 2017. Use it more to maximize wealth prospects and accumulation and good fortune. If your main entrance faces EAST you are in great shape for 2017 because it ushers in this auspicious energy. If one of the rooms you use most often or your office is in the East it helps you establish a good reputation to flourish in professional pursuits. To activate use this area more, open windows, add yang objects like a television, clock or fan.

SOUTHEAST is the second best sector to activate to grow your wealth especially for long-term projects and investments. It increases sales and is also a great sector for spiritual manifestation in 2017. If SOUTHEAST is where your home office is located you will find yourself more active in business. Using SOUTHEAST will boost your career and you will be more joyful as you gain more fame and reputation. If you are in a relationship SOUTHEAST will help you plan marriage or start a family.

NORTH is the third best sector of 2017. This area is good for education and if your purpose is to learn you can turn your knowledge into a career. Study in the NORTH this year and set your children up in the NORTH for their study area. It also manifests career opportunities in 2017. Use it to climb the corporate ladder and to build a good name and status. If the main door to your office is in the NORTH your status and social circle will improve. Make sure there are no negative aspects in this sector or you will get undesirable results

Sending you blessings for a most fantastic Year of the Fire Rooster 2017!

If You Can See It, You Can Have It in 2017 by Suzannah Galland

If You Can See It, You Can Have It in 2017

I like to think of 2017 as an open book. Why not call it a celebration of YOU? The first page starts on January 1st. It is your journal, and what if you knew that the words you write could take form. Imagine that?

We all want to celebrate our life. But verbal affirmations like, “Every day I will lose weight,” or “My house is clean and tidy” just don’t cut it. To lose weight, drink less or catch a date, you may need the right actions to do the trick.

What do you crave? A new home, or baby, or a closet filled with Dolce & Gabbana? Whatever it is, then it’s time to rewrite your story and in the present. Whenever you live in this moment, making the most of it, time and again, you’re naturally at your most powerful, most capable, most alive.

Lilly is from Los Angles and wants to get married. She’s single, depressed and “filled with flaws” – or so she believes. Lilly has spent the last seven years pining for a huge wedding day, but now she’d be grateful for a Vegas bash. Lilly is dateless, overweight and feeling clueless how to bring in her beau. Her New Year’s resolution is to lose weight, but her secret desire is to get married.

First, I asked Lilly to talk about marriage and what it means to her. She gave me a solemn look. She said, “I just want to share my life with someone special.” Her eyes were lifeless. Her words monotone. For Lilly, life had taken its toll.

Lilly looked to me to help her lose weight. What she needed was an out of the box approach.

Like all brides who try on gowns, I knew she’d love to see herself in one of them.

After all, beauty is about the way you move, and express yourself.

“Be patient and find that one-of-a-kind dress you’ve always imagined yourself wearing,” I told her, “Enjoy the daydream of becoming a bride.” And take a close friend with you for support.

At first, she was hesitant to do this. ”I’m too fat,” she said, “Nothing will fit me.”

I gave her a gentle nudge. “Make sure to feel the finish of the fabric,” I said. “See the glowing potential of you.”

Lilly’s adventure was a success. And her feedback was everything I hoped for. Her eyes brimmed with joy. She experienced a mystical ecstasy. For the first time, she knew what it would feel like to be a bride.

“I am going to lose 20lb and start dating.” She said.

Lilly had wanted to lose weight for a bigger reason – to get married. But to achieve her goal, she needed a more tangible motivator. Taking ACTION to explore what it would feel like to be a bride created a cycle of energy to propel her forward. And that was a grand motivator for her to lose weight.

We all have wants and desires, but we rarely listen to our hearts. By physically experiencing the thing you want and in real time, your mind will believe that you already have it. Take a chance on something you want, through a door that you’ve never opened. Go for something heartfelt. Make it bigger!

If your house is a mess, maybe it’s because you secretly want to redecorate. So, to motivate you, why not view a luxury penthouse interior? “I can’t afford it, so what’s the point?” you say to yourself. But it might be just the push you need to redesign or de-clutter your home.

If you want that wardrobe filled with Dolce and Gabbana? Get dressed up, take yourself out and try on everything in their store. Fall in love with the feeling of wearing the clothes – imprint the image into your mind. And, if you’re looking for love? Date yourself, take yourself out to that restaurant with a close mate, buy yourself flowers. Light those candles and smile.

In other words, by stepping out with a kick-starting motivator is a good way to inspire a goal you’ve been putting off for years.

There’s nothing more exciting than a glimpse of the future. If you can see it, you can have it!

It all starts by making 2017 a year of celebration for you.

A Sultry Soft Smokey Eye – Lisa Storey

kora-lisa-storey-a-smokey-eye-blog

Working with Miranda on many shoots, sometimes back-to-back days and occasionally two shoots in one day, I can see how her approach to health with organic choices really take effect. Her diet and using KORA Organics products keeps her skin healthy and balanced, and her energy consistent. I’m often curious of what food she brings to work, it’s always delicious, healthy on the go nutrition… that makes the long hours and need to remain energized much easier.

The make up looks can go in any direction… a sultry soft smokey eye like the one we created for the Swarovski campaign still looks fresh and bold even at the end of the day with Miranda’s eyes naturally sparkling through.

For this look I applied a peach gold (Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Color) on the lid and inner lower edge of the eye then a bronze to the outer eye, shaping and contouring to lift the eyes up. Next with a powder shadow (Tom Ford eyeshadow quad in Cognac Sable) I blended outwards to create the soft smoky effect. Chanel precision eyeliner in Amber on the inner lid and lashing of mascara completed the look.

I use my hands as a palette and am constantly cleaning them off so I always have KORA Organics Daily Hand Cream with me to nourish and replenish them after continual cleaning. At times I can get eczema (a type of dry skin) on my palms from using artificial hand soaps and detergents (when out and about) but I use the healing and protective KORA Organics Daily Hand Cream as my go-to treatment, knowing I can touch faces, prepare food etc. without the worry of having anything other than organic on my skin.

Travelling for work can take a harsh toll on your skin with air conditioned cabins causing your skin to become dehydrated. Here I share my in-flight skincare essentials to ensure you land looking fresh and glowing.

First I remove my make up with KORA Organics KORA Organics Cream Cleanser to gently remove all the dirt and grime while at the same time nourishing the skin. I then apply KORA Organics Hydrating Mask to clean, rehydrate and invigorate my complexion.

Spritzing my face during the flight with either my KORA Organics Balancing Rose Mist or KORA Organics Calming Lavender Mist to balance the pH level in my skin while also soothing and hydrating.

Next is an added boost of hydration with the KORA Organics Luxurious Rosehip Oil, a powerful treatment oil which is rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids to deeply moisturise and protect my skin.

An eye cream is essential to prevent you from looking tired just in case you didn’t get that much-needed beauty sleep. Applying the KORA Organics Recovery Eye Gel Cream which contains Aloe Vera will help to assist to cool and soothe, tired puffy eyes.

Don’t forget to hydrate your hands with the KORA Organics Daily Hand Cream

Some other things I carry on board with me include a silk eye mask to ensure I get some beauty sleep while I’m on the flight, a scarf so you can add a few layers or take it off so you can be flexible adjusting to the temperature. I also remember to hydrate from within by drinking lots of water and herbal teas.

Just before I touch down I will spritz my face with KORA Organics Energising Citrus Mist to brighten my complexion and just to give me that boost of energy by taking in the aroma of the citrus scents, I’ll apply KORA Organics Tinted Day Cream as it’s a lighter alternative to foundation, and then apply KORA Organics Vitamin Enhanced Lip Balm to my lips.

It’s a lot of work, but it ensures I disembark looking and feeling fresh.

I wish everyone safe travels when you embark on your next adventure.

Much love

A Simple Fresh Faced Beauty Look by Lisa Storey

lisa-storey-gritty-pretty-shoot-a-simple-fresh-faced-beauty-look

I have worked with Miranda on many different types of shoots and commercials and every time I am reminded of her approach to beauty, from not only what you put on your skin, but what you put in your body and how you feel contributes to how your skin looks. Eating organic and using organic products that nourish the skin (and body) when possible I think really makes a difference. As a make up artist its always amazing to create looks and watch Miranda bring her magic to them. Well moisturized skin is key for any look. I like to use KORA Organics Hydrating Day and Night Cream, sometimes mixing in a drop of KORA Organics Luxurious Rosehip Oil for extra richness. My favorite looks on Miranda always start with natural radiant dewy skin . The next step is applying the KORA Organics Tinted Day Cream followed by and rose tinted cream blush (La Praire Cellular Radiance Cream Blush) A little concealer where needed (Cle De Peau) and a soft pink tone added to lips and we have a simple fresh faced beauty look.

A Calming Energy On Set – Lisa Storey

kora-lisa-storey-a-calming-energy-on-set-blog

A favorite discovery of mine while working with Miranda was the KORA Organics Heart Chakra Essence. For a start I love the packaging, elegant narrow dark glass tube. The ball application that delivers just enough oil on your skin. I apply it to my wrists before starting make up. My hands are always close to the faces I’m working on and mine too… together we become surrounded with a calming aroma. I do believe, it has an effect…it reminds me to take some sweet deep breathes especially when in a challenging situation, like having to hurry up and get on set! I have experienced while working with Miranda how her approach to life resonates and inspires others, you see the curiosity that gets ignited about choosing a healthy and organic (when possible) lifestyle. I think kindness starts with taking good care of yourself, this, Miranda exudes…then you can spread that kindness everywhere and experience some genuine feel good moments! Another favorite thing to use is the KORA Organics Calming Lavender Mist and the KORA Organics Energising Citrus Mist. Gently spraying it in to the air around the face livens up make up and helps you feel refreshed …I also just offer a spray to anyone in the room…. its rarely declined!

How Shui Are You? By Anita Rosenberg

Anita-R---Life-is-Complicated.-Feng-Shui-Keeps-it-Simple 2

Answer the following questions to find out, how Shui are you?

__yes __ no      1. Do you tend to pick single items rather than pairs?
__yes __ no      2. Is your television exposed and not inside a closed cabinet?
__yes __ no      3. Is your entryway bland and lacklustre?
__yes __ no      4. Do you have family photos on your mantel?
__yes __ no      5. Sitting at your desk, is your back towards the door?
__yes __ no      6. Is your artwork drab and uninspiring?
__yes __ no      7. Do you have mirrors in your bedroom?
__yes __ no      8. Do you prefer silk plants and flowers to real ones?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need to correct your Feng Shui.

Here are my Top Eight Tips to keep your Feng Shui Simple.

#1 – It Takes Two to Tango
Feng Shui provides simple tools for attracting a mate. Love and passion is the tango of duality. Decorating with “pairs of things” will stir up your love life; two pictures, two chairs, two lamps or matching items. Displaying pairs honours relationships in general.

#2 – Cover Televisions when not in use
Computers and televisions possess strong EMFs (electromagnetic frequencies) that are harmful in large doses. Whether turned on or off, they are rays of harmful energy that negatively affect our health. In Feng Shui, we never want them in bedrooms. If you must sleep with a television, place inside a cabinet so you can close off the energy when you go to sleep.

#3 – Bring out the Welcome Mat
Opportunity knocks at the front door which is why we suggest a welcome mat to greet our guests. The front door is the mouth of Qi or life-force energy, which is why we add greeters like a welcome mat, spiritual statue or bench.

#4 – Light my Fire
The fireplace is the most fiery area of the house so we want to balance the fire energy with water by placing a mirror over the mantel. A mirror represents the water element. Other objects like crystals or candles make excellent décor choices as well. Family photos and painting will symbolically burn up so we don’t like them on the mantel.

#5 – Always Sit in the Power Position
You should always have a commanding view of the room from your desk. No one wants to sit with their back to the door as it is unsettling. To determine your power position, try moving your chair around until you feel the most comfortable.

#6 – Art That Inspires
Art should lift your spirits and reflect who you are. Art symbolism is powerful. Food-related images do well in kitchens. Pictures with people go in the dining room. Hang romantic pieces in the bedroom. Playful art is for children’s rooms. Office art should empower your career.

#7 – Fresh Flowers bring Prosperity
Flowers are said to bring good fortune into your home or office. Silk and dried flowers have a shelf-life of three months and then they become dust-catchers. Fresh flowers are preferred. Replace them immediately when wilted or faded.

#8 – Family Wall of Fame
Family members are our support team. In Feng Shui we like adding a hallway of family portraits or an entry table with family photos. Miranda loves her family pictures and has assembled her favourite shots of the important people in her life. We can all follow her lead.

The Power of Projecting Loving Thoughts by Suzannah Galland

Suzannah-Galland---The-Power-of-Projecting-Loving-Thoughts

Ever take a moment to listen to the opinions, judgments, and wisecracks silently swirling around in your mind when you meet or see someone? No one can hear these thoughts, so we feel free to think whatever we want, regardless how harsh or lustful. But beware. Lack of sound doesn’t prevent our silent communication from having an impact. When we think in the direction of another, we transfer our thoughts and emotions to him or her. Our thoughts, like our energy, are packed with electrical charges and actually travel from person to person. This silent communication can be quite powerful.

When people receive loving thoughts from us, they find themselves smiling and feeling good inside, and we experience the same flow of love in return. It’s a win-win. On the other hand, when we project thoughts from a negative place, we’re hacking into someone’s energy. The recipient of our goo will feel as if something is off and, likewise, we’ll get caught up in a boomerang of negative goo. Here we have a lose-lose.

Projecting a kind thought to people we meet is a great way to start improving our silent communication. Try doing it throughout the day, almost as a form of prayer. The very act of transferring our thoughts is our first step to giving acts of kindness. If we take a moment to realise that we can affect ourselves and others deeply by how we think, we’re inspired to dump the trash thoughts and replace them with something more beautiful and pure.

Try this: When you meet someone and feel desire, mentally give it back. In your mind’s eye, offer that feeling as a well wish for them. They may notice; they may not. If they don’t respond, take that as a valuable sign. If they do, so much the better! But make love the median climate in your heart, and you will generate it all around you.

How to Make Your Home Feel More Cozy by Anita Rosenberg

KORA-Blog-Anita-R---How-to-Make-Your-Home-Feel-More-Cozy-3-copy

Looking out my window I see the famous Hollywood sign and landmark Capitol Records building. Smack in the middle of Hollywood, I live in a loft. It is one large room so the challenge is to divide up the space and make it homey. Plus a loft can be cold and impersonal, which is why it was important to add breezy fabrics and lush bedding, pillow accents on the bed, couches and chairs to cozy it up. When action movie actor Jason Statham (The Bank Job and Spy) stopped over shortly after I moved in he exclaimed, “Your place is very Zen. It’s really homey.” That’s when I knew I had done my job correctly. Plenty of seating invites conversations. Decorative screens divide the space without closing off the loft vibe. My dining table also serves as the kitchen island with tall stools, which is where I mostly sit and entertain. And entry bench greets guests and provides a seat to take off your shoes when entering; I abide by the shoe-less home rules to keep my space energetically clean.

Here are some pointers on how you can create a sacred and homey place of your own.

Yin Yang Bulletin:
You want to combine yin and yang elements seamlessly. One large room with high ceilings, bright natural light, grand windows and large furniture is yang so you want to blend it with homey touches of fabric, rugs, pillows, books, collectible and art. A yin space is a small room with low ceilings and less natural light so it needs the energy uplifted by adding larger furniture and less décor pieces. Too many small knick-knacks become granny’s house.

House Luck Homework:
Go around your house and take inventory of what makes you feel good and what doesn’t. Toss out anything that is less than excellent. Do not keep something just because it is valuable or someone gave it to you. Lighting magical candles and incense lifts the mood. Purposefully placed crystals also raise the vibration. Keep your home clean, because you never know who will be stopping by!
